Setting Up the Document

| Make sure you use the right settings |
3 important points:
- Adding a manual bleed. Since Photoshop doesn't allow you to set document bleed settings, do follow the recommended bleed settings to figure out the page size. In this case, we are using an A4 document.
The final size is 210mm x 297mm. But since we are adding a 3mm bleed all round, add 6mm to both the height and the width
3mm for top and 3mm for bottom = adding 6mm to height
3mm for left and 3mm for right = adding 6mm for width - Make sure your resolution is at least 300 pixels/inch. This is to ensure a high quality print.
- Finally, please make sure you choose CMYK color if you are preparing for print.
Saving as PDF Format
Once you have completed your artwork, go ahead and save it as an Photoshop PDF format (Press Quality or PDF/X-1a) which is ideal for printing. (If using older versions, you may consider saving in an uncompressed tiff format.)
